Rodney Maraist on Father Jerome and Cat Island
Cat Island is a beautiful Island in the Bahama chain. Father Jerome moved to the island in 1939. He built the Hermitage enirely by hand when he was in his 70s. It is a truly remarkable feat. It sits at the highest point on the island and offers a magnificent view. Here are a few photos so you can appreciate this incredible work.
After seeing these it is hard to believe this was done entirely by hand and by someone in his seventies. Don't you agree?
